Liberty Receives Dual Certification by World-Wide Organizations Forest Stewardship Council and Sustainable Forestry Initiative

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified Liberty in January 2008. FSC is an international organization whose mission is to promote responsible management of the world’s forest. The Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) also certified Liberty on June 5th, 2008. The SFI program certifies companies based on a comprehensive system of principles, objectives, and performance measures that were developed by professional foresters, conservationists, and scientists.

According to Joy Downing, President of Liberty, “The green awareness movement is rapidly gaining momentum. We specifically sought to achieve FSC/SFI Chain of Custody certification because we view it as our responsibility as a market leader to not only support the practice of responsible forestry, but to provide our customers with access to paper that is verified as environmentally conscious.”
